IMPACT MOLING
We provide Impact Moling services at competitive rates. We currently have 2 unit of 75mm Terra Brand (Swiss Made) Impact Moles.
Impact moling is a trenchless technology that offers a less invasive & more efficient method for installing underground utilities, reducing the environmental impact & minimizing disruption to surface areas compared to traditional open-cut trenching method.
Impact moling, also known as horizontal directional drilling (HDD), is a trenchless method used for the installation of underground pipes, cables, conduits, or other utilities without the need for extensive excavation. It is commonly used for laying pipes & cables for utilities such as water supply, sewerage, gas, telecommunications, & electrical conduits.
Impact moling is advantageous as it minimizes disruption to the surface, reduces the need for extensive excavation & can often be completed more quickly than traditional trenching methods.
Impact moling involves a pneumatic hammer or mole that is propelled through the ground along a predetermined path. The mole creates a borehole by impacting & displacing the soil or other materials.
A launching pit & a receiving pit are typically excavated at the entry & exit points of the intended underground path. The mole, equipped with a piercing head, is inserted into the ground from the launching pit and directed toward the receiving pit.
As the mole moves forward, it displaces the soil or other materials by exerting high-frequency impacts. The displaced material is compacted around the borehole, creating a tunnel for the installation of utilities.
Impact moling is effective in various soil types, including sand, clay, gravel & some types of rock. However, it may encounter challenges in extremely hard or densely compacted soils.
